We facilitate cultural connections between diverse communities by organising social and cultural events, running Chinese language and culture classes and participating with other community groups in major local and national activities.
Wan Sheung dance group were invited to perform at Birmingham's International Dance Festival in May this year. Apart from having their own slot during Week one, they then returned to take part in an ensemble piece involving all the dance groups on the Sunday.
CCC-B was also invited to contribute to IDFB's Wings of Desire. Individuals and organisations took part in semi-structured interviews about their lives and experiences in Birmingham. Extracts of the interviews were spliced to form the soundtrack to this outdoor performance involving dance and acrobatics.
Earlier in the year, CCC-B took part in the St Patrick's Day Parade on 11th March; and on 17th March, Wan Cheuk Choir sang in 'Equinox', an inter-cultural choral celebration which formed part of the Cultural Olympiad.
