Mental Health

Caring for someone with mental illness is extremely emotionally and mentally stressful and can have a big impact on the carer's own wellbeing.

We support Carers experiencing mental health issues or caring for people with a mental health condition:

  • We help carers build resilience to deal with difficult situations and solve problems, including confidential one to one emotional support
  • We make referrals and support carers and people they care for to fully make use of the mental health services.
  • We provide home visits, outreach support and a range of learning workshops, covering topics such as Mental Health Awareness, Mental Health Carer's Training Course, Wellness Recovery Action Plan and Managing Negative Emotions
  • We run Family Support sessions, which are tailored family support programmes to help Carers and their families to gain better understanding of their needs, identify available services and resources, develop action plans and facilitate new family activities.
